Who is this Guy Anyway?
Born and raised in California, Russell Lahodny grew up in the picturesque town of Bishop, nestled at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes that inspired legendary photographer Ansel Adams, Russell developed a deep appreciation for beauty, storytelling, and the natural world. His youth was filled with outdoor adventures — golfing, fishing, and snowboarding at Mammoth Mountain — all of which nurtured his creativity and sense of exploration.
After graduating from Bishop Union High School, Russell attended California State University, Fullerton, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications with an emphasis in Photojournalism. His love for photography opened doors to remarkable experiences — from standing just outside the ropes at boxing matches and behind the chutes at Professional Bull Riders (PBR) events, to photographing Governors Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jerry Brown, and Gavin Newsom, as well as legendary figures like Coach John Wooden. His lens became a gateway to storytelling, capturing both the action and the emotion of life’s defining moments.
Russell’s passion for storytelling evolved into a lifelong career in leadership and advocacy through the chamber of commerce industry, where he has spent more than two decades advancing business, community, and economic growth. He most recently served as President & CEO of the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, a 5-Star Accredited organization recognized nationally for excellence.
Throughout his career, Russell has championed initiatives that strengthen the connection between business, education, and government. His work in workforce development, economic policy, and regional collaboration has earned him recognition as a visionary leader dedicated to building stronger, more resilient communities. Known for his creativity, integrity, and strategic approach, Russell brings people and ideas together to inspire lasting impact.
Beyond his professional achievements, Russell is a lifelong ice hockey goaltender, having played for Cal State Fullerton’s club team and in competitive leagues, where he earned multiple MVP honors and championship titles. His adventurous spirit has also led him to climb Mount Whitney, the tallest mountain in the continental United States, and to work on the set of the award-winning film Not Today, merging his visual storytelling and production talents.
At the heart of everything, however, is Russell’s faith and his family. Guided by his belief in Jesus Christ, he strives to live with purpose, humility, and gratitude. He is a devoted husband to his wife, Kimberly, and a proud father of four children, who remain his greatest source of joy and inspiration. Whether behind the camera, on the ice, or leading an organization, Russell’s life reflects a commitment to faith, family, and community — advancing the people and places that make life truly meaningful.
